Perspective for the new year (1/1/25)

newsletter Jun 06, 2025
new years day

Have you noticed three different types of posts you may see on social media on New Year's Day, and the days leading up to the new year?

They are the vulnerable posts.

Each person tells their version of what the new year will bring.

  1. The optimist. It's the person that shares their biggest wins of 2024, with the conclusion that 2025 is going to be the best year ever.

  2. The survivor. This person had a rough year, a big challenge, a painful event. Yet, they pushed through and 2025 is going to be their best year ever.

  3. The cynic. This person didn't have any particular wins or losses to share, but they felt like they were just surviving. The new year feels like just another day.

Which camp feels most like you today?

Perhaps it is a combination of all three.

The reality is that with a shift of perspective, there is a better way to see the new year.

A way that gives you more peace, joy, contentment and strength for each season.

This is a tool that has worked for me, and thousands of others who have decided to hop off the rollercoaster of ego, drama, and high emotions.

Here it is.

Choose to become stronger, faster, and better each day.

This simple framework is a tool to empower you to focus on what matters, and create small wins each and every day.

How does this look in real life?

Let's see.

For the business owner, real estate professional, or someone wanting to achieve a high performance life, you may have set business goals for 2025. Let's call them initiatives.

The first initiative may be a number of clients you would like to have, or maybe a dollar amount you plan to achieve by the end of this new year.

What if today, you simply decided to set aside one hour of time to reach out to your private clients, friends, or business associates, to simply wish them a Happy New Year?

No agenda. No sales pitch.

Just a warm text, message or call to open communication with them.

Then, what if you set aside another thirty minutes to plan the next few days, creating time to work on your business each day?

By completing these small tasks, and keeping the promises to yourself and others, you became stronger, faster, and better.

For the person in a relationship, perhaps you have an initiative to create a stronger bond with your significant other this year.

What if you were to do one thing today that is intentionally kind?

Maybe it's a compliment, or a listening ear.

Maybe it's offering to cook dinner, or inviting them out for a surprise date night.

Then, think of ten ways you can bring them surprise and delight over the next ten days.

Choose to do something special each and every day for them. No agenda. Nothing to ask for.

By shifting your intention in your relationship, it allows you to celebrate becoming stronger, faster, and better today.

For the person ready to level up your health, perhaps you have set an initiative to lose a certain amount of weight, or to change your diet.

What if today, instead of going to the gym (that will no doubt be crowded with a new years rush), you go for a walk or take your dog to the beach?

Then plan to do one thing towards a better body tomorrow. Make a note of it before you go to bed.

Or, start a program like 75Hard or join a yoga or jiujitsu studio.

All three of these types of workouts give you a new found mental toughness that can become the foundation to an even healthier life.

(I've done them all, and continue to do them on a regular basis to keep my body strong and healthy).

Today you became stronger, faster and better.

The result over time?

You will be able to look back over the year and see how far you have come, and then you gain the ability to choose even more challenging initiatives with a resilience that will carry you through any season.

A thriving business that is run with intention.

A healthier relationship where trust and closeness is rebuilt.

A stronger body with results you can see.

A clearer mind that celebrates the small victories each day.

It starts with shifting your perspective and deciding to become stronger, faster and better just for today.
